FAQ

What is the difference between Genuine leather and hybrid synthetic leather?

Hybrid synthetic leather, also known as artificial or vegan leather, is a combination of synthetic materials designed to mimic the look and feel of genuine leather. While the quality and performance of synthetic leathers can vary depending on the specific materials used, there are a few reasons why hybrid synthetic leather may be considered stronger and more durable than genuine leather, particularly in the context of boxing gloves.

1. Consistency: Synthetic leather is typically manufactured under controlled conditions, resulting in a more consistent and uniform product. Genuine leather, on the other hand, can have natural variations in texture, thickness, and strength due to the inherent differences among animal hides. Synthetic leather allows for a more precise manufacturing process, ensuring a more consistent and reliable product.

2. Moisture Resistance: Genuine leather is prone to absorb moisture, which can cause it to weaken, become brittle, or develop mold and mildew over time. Synthetic leather is often designed to be more resistant to moisture, making it less likely to degrade or lose its structural integrity when exposed to sweat, water, or high humidity. This can be particularly advantageous for boxing gloves, which are frequently used in sweaty and intense training sessions.

3. Enhanced Durability: Hybrid synthetic leather can be engineered to be highly durable and resistant to abrasion, tearing, and wear. It can withstand repeated impact and friction without significant degradation, making it suitable for the rigorous demands of boxing training and competition. Genuine leather, while strong, may require more maintenance and care to retain its durability over time.

Which Glove is better for me Lace up or Velcro?

The Choice is really up to the purpose of your training and use. Most Pro’s prefer Lace up due to the support and they often are wearing taped hand wraps. Velcro is better suited for in the gym where you want to be able to take your gloves on an off by yourself.
